The Practice
Principal - Paul Retout
Paul Retout qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1984 and joined a merchant bank as financial director in 1986 to further his commercial experience. In 1989 he joined a team as financial director that carried out an MBO out of the WCRS Group funded by Robert Fleming.
In 1996 Paul re-entered practice life taking over Retout Capel & Co.on the retirement of his father, with his unique experience of being involved in commerce.
Since then Paul has developed the practice into a highly technological firm being one of the first practices to file self assessment returns electronically with the Inland Revenue, and to set-up Webrust through the ICAEW.
Although based in North Wales the practice has taken advantage of wireless broadband and is able to communicate on-line with clients throughout the world. The practice has a number of clients that are accessed remotely either via a Virtual Private Network (VPN) or through a Webex connection.
All legislation and tax cases are stored on CD Rom, including Inland Revenue manuals, making it easier to search through extensive data. With the resources of the tax faculty and the library of the ICAEW Paul believes that Retout Capel & Co. is well placed to offer a centre of excellence in tax and accountancy.
